The third annual “T3K” - RTB Relay race will take place on September 12ththrough September 13th . The Reach the Beach Relay Road Race is longest relay road race in the country it will commence at Cannon Mountain in Franconia Notch, New Hampshire and finish 200 miles later at Hampton Beach, New Hampshire. Three Run-U-Bears teams, a total of 36 runners consisting of Taryn's family and Bowdoin College teammates and classmates will run in her memory. They will race all day and through the night, to raise funds for the Taryn L. King Memorial Scholarship Fund at Bowdoin College.
Taryn, an All- American field hockey player, and a lacrosse player at Bowdoin College died unexpentantly of septicemia while studying abroad at the National Universityof Ireland in Galway. Taryn died in January of 2006 at the age of 21, she wore jersey #3 for both sports.
